CAM(ERA)-(COMM)UNITY. A VISUAL MAP OF CONNECTIONS BETWEEN UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY GRADUATE STUDENTS.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. GET THE DINO.

A small t-rex figurine is being passed around on campus from one grad student to another.

2. TAKE A PICTURE.

The student receiving the Dino is invited to take a picture of themselves with the Rex and to post a self-introduction on the Cam-Unity platform.

3. PASS THE DINO.

They then pass the Dino on to a fellow graduate student, who will repeat the process.

Currently the only way to join Cam-Unity is if the Dino figurine has been passed on to you, so keep your eyes peeled!
Unfortunately, no. Those who get the Dino will receive a personal log-in codethat is necessary to create their profile. If you know the last person who is in possession of the Dino, however, please feel free to reach out to them and tell them you are interested so that they may pass the Dino on to you.
Click on the "accept invite" link in the email. After you fill in your email address and select a password, you will be able to log in and complete your profile.
Anywhere between 10-15 minutes.
Yes, you can edit your profile at any time simply by logging back into your account.
There is no deadline, but we are trying to keep the turn-around time to a minimum so that more students can participate. If you don’t think you’ll be able to complete your profile in a week’s time, please consider declining the invitation so your friend can pass this chance to someone else. Creating a profile only takes 10-15 minutes though, so we encourage you to find the time!
That’s too bad, but don’t worry. You can always invite someone else! Just log into your account and click the "invite friend" button to invite another friend.
Are you sure you’ve thought of everyone? Someone in your class or your lab, perhaps? Maybe that person you met at the gym or at an event? Think! If after all that thinking you are still having trouble finding someone, contact us at info@cam-unity.com and we’ll help you figure out a way.
No, please decline the invite and tell the person who invited you to pass the Dino on to someone else so that other people also get a chance to participate.
At this point in time, you have to be a graduate student at the University of Calgary to participate as this is project funded by the Graduate Students’ Association. If you are not a graduate student, please decline the invitation so that the person who invited you may find a new candidate.
If a student has listed their email address on their profile, by all means! If their email address is not listed, it means that they prefer not to be contacted.
We are sorry to hear this! If the Dino is broken, please email info@cam-unity.com to get a replacement. If you lost the Dino, we kindly ask you to purchase a new one at the U of C bookstore.
Send an email to info@cam-unity.com, and either Yangyang or Eric will get back to you.
